Tues Ten 041409: Easter Celebrations

We had a long family weekend for Easter visiting at my parents’ home in Macon, MS. We did not go to church together as we normally do because my dad is not yet able since his stroke.  But, inspite of that and a little stomach bug wandering through my children, we still had a wonderful time.  I gratefully acknowledge these 10 causes for celebration over our Easter weekend:

1. “He is not here. He has risen, just as He said.” ~ Little Drummer Boy’s AWANA verse for the week, spoken perfectly and appropriately. Indeed.
2. Caramel pie, courtesy Mama.  Yum to the Mmmm.
3. The sound of little girl squeals, newly sporting “A Da Da Da Da”. A precursor to slumber parties to come, I’m sure.
4. Spending much of Saturday outside with Squiggle and Little Drummer Boy. A special treat traveling from pond to gravel to stump to grass, only to start over again.
5. The fact that egg dye washes off more quickly than it seems, and the smell of vinegar fades
6. Turning in Dad’s giant extended cab pick-up for my old faithful Blazer.  I can now unbuckle carseats without climbing.
7. Getting to give my little ones long-eared chocolate bunnies and cotton candy.
8. Matching argyle vests. Handsome.
9. Staying up later and sleeping later.
10. Watching my Dad make Baby Girl giggle.

These and the sound of “I don’t want to go home” signal a weekend well-done.
